I have using ‘ The Bible project ‘ I started using it some months ago - they have podcasts, videos and teaching on the different books. I would highly recommend the site.

I must admit that I find social settings difficult, I do talk to people at the bus stop and when I am out but I don’t find it easy to start a conversation, always been a bit shy.
I watched a program with Billy Connolly ( Scottish comedian ) travelling through the USA - he met some fascinating people and the different cultures ect. He also did one from Australia.
So what’s your favourite place in the USA and is there one place that you would love to visit, but haven’t ?
I would love to see the Grand Canyon - just the size of it would be a ‘ Wow ‘ moment for me !
X
I'll have to check that out. I prefer listening to Dan Mohler when driving long distances. He's a motivational style preacher that emphasizes becoming love in a way that I've never heard before. He is  a bit quirky an that drives my wife nuts. So I listened to him when I'm alone.

My favorite place in the USA so far would definitely be Jackson Valley. Outside Jackson Hole, WY. South of Yellowstone. Beautiful valley looking at the Teton mountain range.

We have been to the Grand Canyon twice. It is a must see but seems no matter what time of year it's busy now days. Many of the other places we visit in and around Moab look amazingly similar to the GC. Yet without the crowds.

Wow that’s a long journey - we think a journeys long if we have to travel over 50miles !! lol
I am on another forum and they keep people posted on how bad things have been under Biden - I am not a massive Trump fan , but in all honesty I am not a fan of any politician. They all have hidden agendas and are governed by the power struggles and egos. I don’t think anyone from another country can see how it is for someone in that country.
Our government is making decisions that many of us don’t like, but the previous government  we definitely didn’t like - so for me it doesn’t make any difference what side they are on as we are still in a bad place!
Yes, I am so grateful to have the Lord in my life. Going through ‘ Revelation ‘ at the moment - He wins xx
I think we are somewhat used to the long jouneys. We travel to the Florida coast nearly every other year. 6-700 miles. We love to travel but I'm leaning toward train travel in the future. They have a train route from one side of the country to the other that's very scenic. It may even venture into Canada some. I love to meet people. Just share testimonies and see how the Lord has made His presence in their lives. We all have so much in common and are truly relatives in the Lord.

I try and stay out of the political arena as much as possible. But it's hard to ignore when it's affecting so many. I agree they all have their agendas. And our prospering never seems to be on that list.

Revelation has always been a hard one for me. Maybe I need to revisit it! God Bless

Joseph, the Lord keep you safe if you really must risk such a long drive.
As for Trump, I tongue in cheek posted elsewhere the song that included the line "I dreamed that the great judgement morning had dawned and the 'Trump'et had blown".
But seriously, "God is working His purpose out as year succeeds to year, till the earth shall be filled with the Gory of God, as the waters cover the sea".
God can use 'bad' as well as 'good' in His eternal plan.
As for Utah, I searched through countless promotional pictures and the one thing that stood out was that it seemed to be so incredibly sun parched and dry with so little green foliage. Is that really how it is?
And BTW what a blessing it is to have you swelling the ranks of our fellowship. :-*  :-*
Mike.

Hello Mike. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Amen. I won't always understand it but sometimes Gods pick wouldn't have been my pick of men in charge. Whether it be pastors or in the political calling. That just means that I'm wrong cause He never is.

I tried to upload some pics yesterday but it kept telling me the size was too big and I haven't come to the knowledge or understanding of how to fix that! Most of the state of Utah is just that. Dry. But around Moab the Colorado River winds and produces a lush green standing of cottonwoods and grasses. It's a valley and things just grow better I suppose. And right outside of town is the La Salle mountain range with pine woods as well as aspen trees that break up the dry landscape. Breathtaking!

We normally fly out west but decided to drive this time. It is 1280 miles (2059 km) one way. Quite the journey..

I suppose the world sees Trump and his sweeping changes as a shock and possibly as a bad thing. But most of us in the US have just endured the worst four years of our lives and welcome the changes. I doubt the news would reflect how bad things were for the majority of us outside of LA or New York during Bidens tenure. Nevertheless, our hope isn't in Trump or anyone they put in the White House, but in the Lord alone. And I would imagine that a countless number of folks turned to Jesus during the last few years as times got hard. I thank the Lord for showing us how sweet it is to have a Father that loves and nurtures His children...

Hello Rita. All is well, thanks for asking. Just returned home from a trip out west (Moab). We love Utah. The Lord certainly can paint a landscape and His ability is on full display out there. Hope you all are well.

Thanks Rita. I've got Wegeners. It's an autoimmune disease and I get treatments every six months. I've changed my diet and take alot of supplements that seemed to have helped the side effects. Seems everyone has something these days so no complaints from me. The Lords heard them all.

Going for gold just means I'll be back on my feet trying to achieve my goals. Hopefully sooner than later.

Funny you asked about Cathys shoulder. It still isn't right but she learned to live with some of the pain. Now I think she over compensated with her left shoulder. It's now bad and we are taking her to Dr today for it. She goes pretty hard from the moment her feet hit the floor in the morning till she lays down and I'm afraid it's catching up with her. And Lord knows I need my help meet with the busy life we have. I've threatened to trade her in for new model! lol. But she's irreplaceable.

I was on board a very large drill ship in the middle of the Atlantic. On our way to Freeport, Tx from Capetown, SA. It had already been weeks since I'd seen my wife or two baby boys and I still had a few weeks to go. Alone and knew almost no one aboard the ship. Twenty years old at the time and life was coming at me fast. I would talk to the Lord but wouldn't say I knew Him. So I climbed in my bunk one night and opened a bible my wife sent me. It was like reading chinese. I knew the words but they sure didnt make any sense. I closed my eyes and asked God to come into me and help me understand. Somehow I believed He could do that. I dozed off while praying. Off to work the next day I never thought again about that prayer. In my bunk that night I pulled the bible out and read for hours like a kid with a new toy. Amazed and through tears I read and understood. My loneliness was gone. Who could be Lonely in the presence of King? Thank you Lord for that night and countless nights like that since..

Thank you again. I'm sorry to anyone who read that post above. None of that glorifies the Lord. I suppose I wanted to give a reason why I hadn't participated more here on the forum. But none of those things I wrote give me an excuse not to shine. Where would we all be had Jesus used excuses (justifications) rather than going to the cross. Thankfully we won't have to know... So we press on, forgetting those things left behind and reaching forth..

Thank you Dave. I deeply value the wisdom I glean from you all. But this has certainly been a couple of rough years for us here. I was diagnosed with Wegeners disease almost two years ago. Treatments and blood draws fill my weeks now. A month later my wife had  a shoulder surgery which led to two more over the last year and a half. All while taking my mother for cancer treatments until she suddenly passed in our house 6 months ago. She had a huge impact on us. I built her house next door to us that now sits dormant. Her influence gone..

I'm sorry to share this as my real first post as it's certainly not the good news. I've wanted to share some of this along the way and share how God has carried us through. Unfortunately strength and words escape me. But we are still standing.
