I was at my doctor's office the other day and nearly everyone  was glued to their cellphones.  People walk down the street looking at their phones and not seeing what's around them. Yes, i think they're making us dumber and less compassionate.

I read somewhere that kids are turning to chatbots for advice instead of their parents.  Some kids think too that chatbots can think, feel and care about them.

China has robots now that serve as traffic cops.  I saw photos of them.  The article said some are also in the military too. That's a scary thought since if a psychopath ordered to kill, they probably would.

If we didn’t have God to talk to and run to , I’m sure we’d all go nuts!
How people who do not believe in the Lord cope with this world I don’t know…I’d probably be far too terrified to even come out of the house! Haha!
   I love that song “ in the Rock I’ll hide , ‘neath His shadow I’ll abide ! When the storms of life come sweeping over me , in the Rock Christ Jesus I’ll hide !”

God Wins! And us in Him.

Did you know, Dave, that being bored is good for us?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orQKfIXMiA8

After watching that video, I'm wondering now if keeping our minds too busy about earthly things makes it harder for God to communicate with us?

Excellent thoughts Kerry ….I hadn’t thought of it until he said it.
 We have developed a culture of non-thinkers .  Now that I’ve heard what he has to say I can see it!   The Robber of time, the Robber of souls , the art of not think and becoming a dull sheep…too busy to even be looking for a Shepherd!!
 Food for thought….and beyond…
Thx

Kerry , I wonder why it says …. “  This video is not available  in your country “.

The one at *the bottom is totally black out with the caption which I quote above! We get that often here.
  Very annoying …especially in social media ….often it says  “not available to Canadian for your protection”.
Who are they kidding …we all know we are blacked out from world news ….but music and hymns !!!?
Not impressed!

Hi Helen
I am looking into the five spiritual senses, I had not considered taste, touch or smell on a spiritual level , only sight and hearing. It was a random conversation with someone that sparked my interest. My word for this year is ‘ awaken ‘ so I am praying that all these senses will become more prominent and defined.
Never had any teaching on these things, have you and Dave ?
I brought a book by Patricia King on the subject , it was written some years ago but it’s quite interesting.
Xx

I agree, I can’t say that I have ever heard a message on the five senses!  Keep us posted on what you find out.  Spiritually I can see ‘touch’ , and taste … not so much that “I touched Him” but times where He touched me. The felt touch. Also we have “ Oh taste and see that that He is Good.  “… we have tasted , and we have drunk deep…. But smell is beyond my experience.  I know those back in the ‘40 said they were in meetings when a fresh bread smell covered the congregation . Also while in prayer meetings the place was filled with the perfume of lily of the valley . And then there was a great movement of Pentecost and the supernatural in meeting and healings.

   Sound interesting ..looking forward to more x

Another Christmas and New year over, had a really lovely time this year - my son came over from Northern Ireland to celebrate my grand daughter’s 18th birthday. Dan actually came to a  celebration meal in Brighton - so I had all four of my children together and we all had such a laugh.
Dan and I were into ‘Stranger Things ‘ so the final series has dominated our viewing, last ever episode was yesterday. We loved it, but my eldest son was disappointed in how the Duffer brothers ended things. I remember getting into ‘ Game of thrones ‘ and how I hated the ending and the last series, although that was pretty universal. The writers rushed the last series because they had been asked to get involved with a new Star Wars film, sadly they lost that job and ruined their reputation as writers as a result.

Dan and I are going to be looking at the Book of Esther, we finished acts just before Christmas.
My daughter in law came to faith a few months ago, actually while Sarah and I were visiting them all. It’s creating some issues with my son as he remembers how his dad blamed my faith for our marriage ending, so he is worried. Thankfully we were able to have a long chat when he came to stay this week.
Xx

Lovely to read your update Rita.  Praise the Lord for your daughter in law new step in the Lord. I’m sure your son will follow soon.

     Good to see you back. Not that I’ve been any help in posting myself this last little while.
xx

Hi Rita,
A very happy new year to you! May it be a year of victory , mercy , and the felt presence of the Lord for us all. We all know that His presence goes with us to the end , as He promised , but it is far and few between that we feel His felt presence upon us! That is glory indeed.
  I have a feeling that in 2026 we are going to need the assurance that He is with us .

Blessing upon one and all ✝️

More recently I've been constantly repeating the "Lord's Prayer" as a means of spiritual uplift, but I now make it more personal by using the 'First person singular' in my prayer (using 'my' instead of 'our', and 'me' instead of 'us' etc.)

For some reason it has caused me to think deeply on the difference between 'Flesh' and 'Spirit'.

When I die (Mortally) my flesh returns to dust.
All that remains being my Spirit (which at some time or another) moves into the state of 'refinement by fire' as a result of which, to varying degrees we each end up being "Saved, yet so as through Fire" (Corinthians).

The 'degree of variation' for every person being accommodated by the "many Mansions that comprise the Father's House" in the New Jerusalem.

I reckon I need no further theology in terms of my "daily bread" leaving me to concentrate on living a life of 'deepest Love' by "forgiving those that 'Sin' against me, to the precise degree of which I can expect God's forgiveness of my 'Sinful acts' against Him" (The 'Nature' of Sin having been "done away" (Hebrews) by the sacrifice of Christ (the incarnate God)

Only one thing completes my living, and that is to "Hallow God's name" in constant worship, and to ask "not to be led astray by temptation, but to be delivered from evil"

All of which comes from my constant prompting as I repeat the "Lord's Prayer".

QED.

Amen to that Mike! It ‘made my day’… I will join you in this.
I know Amadeus always prayed this prayer daily.  I never have , other than when at school.

I do says Psalm 91 daily I used to be able to quote it with no faults , now I sometimes get a line in the wrong place.
I too pray it in the first person also.

Every blessing….H

Wow, so much to think upon in this thread! Still musing….

( I too am a believer in the gap theory )

Surely there must be a sense in which we "have the mind of Christ", but maybe no more than partially whilst we grow in grace (which hopefully we do).

I'm with the Hymnist

’Tis now in part I know His grace;
I catch sweet glimpses of His face,
But in that better world of His,
I shall behold Him as He is.

Then shall I know as I am known,
And sing His praise before the throne;

’Tis now in part I know His love;
Bright sunbeams shine from skies above;
But glories more exceeding far,
Shall rise beyond life’s evening star.

’Tis now in part I understand
The leadings of my Father’s hand;
But I shall own His ways were right,
When welcomed to His presence bright.

’Tis now in part, but O how sweet
To rest by faith at His dear feet;
Though now we see as through a glass,
The veil will lift, the shadows pass.

Good one Mike. 💕
This is a subject we’ve gone round and round on over the years.

Paul says “we have the mind of Christ “.

And we have “ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus….”

Does it mean we have His mind on the matter , or does it mean He has taken away the stony heart and given us a heart of flesh (His) .  To an extent yes …I don’t see the fullness in my own life .
  But then again , most of our walk is ‘by faith ‘ not by sight or understanding.

   But I’d have to say , the Bible itself IS a revelation of His Mind to us…in that respect , we do indeed have the mind of Christ!

xx

I think they should be stripped of any titles and the money that supports them ( unless Charles uses his own money ) they are a disgrace along with Andrew.  The gravy train should end.

I so wish Rita would jump in here! Haha!

For myself I believe everything ended with the real Queen dying.
 I don’t give a fig for Charles and Camilla…..they don’t have the peoples respect or following.
Charles will never shake the ghost of Princes Diana who had more Royal English blood ( even if from the wrong side of the blanket ) in her little finger than Charles did in his whole body….. while Charles was not “English” , but German and Greek.
But Rita knows more about the “Royal family “ than I do, I’ve been out of it for 59 years now.
I don’t like Charles , he’s a prime Globalist , ‘The Great Reset ‘ was his brain child.  He works for the enemy. He has no Christian values other than those attached to his position.
He and the new Pope have lots in common I’m sure.
As for Camilla, pfft …..she’s just a wannabe…

I loved Queen Elizabeth and her love and dedication for England .

I’d like to hear what Rita has to say about. Even though I know she is an anti-royalist .  :)
