Mike that was a fun read, I don't think many have had a 'Damascus road' experiences, writing books in prison never appealed to me.
When we first came to Edmonton we were having meetings in an old disused Catholic school, so every meeting time we used to have to drive past a church that had a large sign saying "First United Church".
We had a talented but a bit sarky young guy who wrote songs which he would sing at church, I was always expecting one on the 'First United Church' that had the great split.
'Happy' paganism brought me my first wife and a quirky christian father in law and his friend, plus Helen praying for me led me to Jesus.

Implosions have been an integral part of our Christian life and throw in the odd explosion, it has made for quite a journey and the best is yet to come.

Last week two saints we knew had the pin pulled and died within 36 hours of each other, I thought now that's timing!!!!!
We met them in an open air meeting in 1973 in Thirsk Yorkshire, his wife had a megaphone and was belting out a song for all and sundry in the market square, such was the effect the Sally Ann ladies had their bonnets off and were twirling them round and round, as the old song says," those were the days my friend"
Interspersed with holidays at Herne bay Christian Court, a pot pourri of christians all together with a guest speaker and the lady asking me at lunch, how long it took Noah to catch the animals.

And the story never ends, thanks for the walk down memory lane Mike.

Thanks Kerry, a good Word, plenty for my feed bag.

Mike I'll leave the techno stuff in your capable hands but I can send you my old computers for dummies book if needed  :)  :)  :)

Rita, "How's our hockey team" a moot point at the moment, the 'management' changed our old porous goalie for a more expensive one, who has proved that he is even a greater porous one.

Glad spring has sprung for you, our spring greeting has been another snowy day this morning.
Fortunately my son in law is the garden maintenance man and his approach and mine are poles apart.
Made me smile about' washing on the line', during the war my dad would be away and I would have to pass mum wooden pegs for pinning the laundry.

Where will your cruise be taking you and B- cake with your bro' what is not to like!!!!

Sorry to hear about the friendship thing, it does take the wind out of ones sails but He is with us in these storm, I just read this morning, 'pray for those who despitefully use you' easy for me to write.

WAAAAAAAY back when, we knew a family who the Lord miraculously healed their baby of Meningitis, a bunch of nurses prayed around it's cot through the night.
Authenticated by amazed doctors.

Well,"It's Friday But Sundays a'coming" said the preacher as told by the late Tony Campolo.
I still have that message on a cassette tape AND an original tape player but like many of us, time has not been kind to the quality.

John 4-24  says's "God is spirit (the source of life, yet invisible to mankind) and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" Amp version.
This verse comes after to me, probably one of the most amazing encounters in scripture, a woman in the everyday tedium of her life going to collect water at it's source, encounters a weary traveller sitting on the well and you know the rest of the story, this no name woman who has seemingly stumbled from one bad relationship to another, and  finds an unknown to her Jesus, He  recognizes her thirst for acceptance.
The hidden cry of many peoples heart today acceptance.
There you go Mike a bit of Friday waffle for you.

Kerry, as God is spirit, I think the Adamic man created in his image and likeness was just that, what that entailed I know not but he was not spirit 'like' God, His maleness was spirit, his soul was his untested fleshy/ female part.
As God is light so was Adam until the female switched his light off, and as men love darkness more than light , we all live by choices.
As stated , 'my' symplistic rendition.

Kerry, In my more simplistic approach to scripture I've always had the woman as female and Adam as male, Adam was created as both and the female part was taken and we have the wo-man. I have the woman as all female, flesh of MY flesh.
An interesting thought on the maybe lack of cleaving.AS they were created both to have dominion Eve came up maybe a bit short but the serpent knew whose was the flesh to tempt.
Just what would be the significance involved in a cleaving act and can we be sure there was none???
Sometimes I think who has the mind of God in this whole creation thing!!!!

Thanks RITA nice to get a feminine insight, does your grand daughter get any help from local sources?
Our friends mind is very much negative and like a roundabout replays the past.

Kerry I enjoyed what you shared, I’ve reread it a couple of times but have had no flow for a reply BUT I’m working on it.🤔🤔🤔.

Never been a great lover of Zucchini but Helen found this grated cheese sliced Zucchini grilled recipe and we are hooked, plus it gives a nice sleep induced nap feeling 😔😔😔.

It seems in this life that it consists very much with the question "WHY".

Why did the the Lord have a two trees and a serpent in the garden, would 'man' have made better choices with no serpent and no trees????.

Because there is a lot of 'WHY" it very often develops into WHY me.
Unfortunately in most cases 'why me' is a question with no answer.
I write to a lady who's 'why me's' totally ruin her life, she's stuck with questions and seemingly no answers, a victim mentality rules her.
The only way out of 'why me' is 'what now.'
You don't heal by replaying what hurt you, you can decide to stop carrying it, what happened probably can not be undone and certainly not by continually revisiting in your mind.
Is there a path forward, we accept some things , maybe a lot of things seem to have no reason.
Is it possible to accept the hurt and move forward to heal??
I'm sure as you read this as a christian you can fill in with scripture stuff I could have written the chapter and verse.
Until she can release those hurts, there is no peace.
She is also Autistic which compounds her problem. I would value any wisdom and if the Lord lays her on your heart for prayer.

Went to some worship meetings with the guy who wrote this song, a bit of a blast from the past, as it were.
As an old mate was oft to quote, "When it's all said and done, there always seems more said than done"
Oh Whoops a bit of a malfunction at the junction on posting the song, but like old King Brucey I'll try,try again.

Not convinced it's a once for all thing, Paul seemed to be more of a "I die daily " type.
In our early walk pretty much every meeting had a "I surrender all" ending, it was at a meeting on Hastings pier as we went forward again, I said to Helen that this was my last surrender going forward.

On retrospect maybe, the 'I surrender all' felt better than the dying daily Selah.

Mike the pews in this church bring back some fond and not so fond memories of preaching and listening in some of England's green and pleasant country churches.

Kerry any idea on who the singer was on that song, when we were having house meetings in Legal,Alberta ,one of the Bro's sons who was about 3 and a half sang that song as his dad picked out the tune on his guitar. So it has great sentimental memories, sadly his son went on to become a Texas lawyer and choose an alternate life style to boot but sometimes a seed needs a great deal of time.

As to "Eden" second time around, a long pause for thought!!! will we need it??, in a " New heaven and a New earth scenario" ????

A sad story Whitney Houston she left to soon unfortunately, Kerry the Carters I think were a bit before my Christian journey but I loved those guitars and their song.

At our old neighborhood there was a garden hedge that I passed when walking the dog, on extremely cold days on a rough count there was an assembly of about 20 to30 sparrows in the hedge huddled together, they must have sensed we were no threat as they just hopped back and forth, never did see one fall.

Ps 119 vs 98 was penned saying, “ Thou through thy commandments hast ‘ made’ me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me ‘
So who is ‘wise’ in this day, when rights and privileges over rule obligations and responsibilities,
So who is ‘strong’ in this day, Prov 16vs 32 ‘ He that is slow to anger is ‘better’ than the mighty, and he that ruleth his spirit than he that take to a city’
Who is ‘rich ‘ in this day, Ps 128 vs 2 ‘ For thou shalt ‘eat’ the labour of thine hands: ‘happy’ shalt thou be, and it shall be ‘well’ with thee’
Ms Houston  unfortunately was not able to conquer her own inclinations, Probably most of us also struggle in that area.
But her music is still around.

This is my 'hers' for today, it will probably become my theme song as I walk on.

I've never heard this rendition before but a thumbs by me, whilst in Cyprus the band had an impromptu skiffle group and they would rock the NAAFI  with this.!!!!

Good morning and good afternoon to others, we have been blessed by about 18" of frozen rain but fortunately not Artic cold. As the old song says ' Count your blessings name them one by one ' so that's my first count that I name.
Just finished watching my USA grand "kids" in Japan, not one picture of beans on toast, a bit to authentic for my palate of their eating choices. But a great one of my grand daughter feeding goats in a park and a young buck taking a fancy to her, good choice by male deer by the way, but some nice evasive moves by grand daughter. ;)  ;)  ;)
Liar, liar and you know the rest, seems to be the order of the day in the Epstein book of revelations, his sphere of influence far exceeds my large grey ones.
I bet for some who have died they are probably smiling to themselves.

It reads more and more that the wisdom of this world gets more foolish as time goes by, our Mr Carnage smiles, and says one thing and does just the opposite. It never ceases to amaze me how those who have the rule over us, can smile, and tell lies at the same time.

The wheeze I hear is to invest in silver, my English friend was saying this in 1978 and when he died, he had 1 tonne buried on his property, all that and it never stopped him dying.
I bet he's smiling and thinking "I told you so". Some trust in chariots, some in silver but we will trust in the "name" of the Lord.

As the Olympics fade away, our two provincial hockey teams are gearing up for a run at the cup, my 'lot'
have the colander goalies unfortunately, we traded one away for two who can replicate him perfectly but not as well as it turns out.
I do worry, will there be hockey in heaven  :)  :)  :)

There you go Mike, more twaddle from across the pond. Spelling and grammatical errors are included.
