Prayers and Praise. / Re: Hymns can help.

^ Hi Dave,

The Carters were before my time too; but my grandparents had some 78 records of them. I never heard them at their house; but when my Grandmother died, one of my sister's inherited the records and we listened to them.

I think birds can sense things, like you and the dog weren't a threat.  It may not be Eden, but it's a hint, I think, of how peaceful it was in Eden before the animals started to fear humans.

Genesis 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

Did Jesus return fully to Eden?  Is there a hint about that when we read he was buried in a garden?  That reminds me of a song; and let me give the Gaither version of it.

A sad story Whitney Houston she left to soon unfortunately, Kerry the Carters I think were a bit before my Christian journey but I loved those guitars and their song.

At our old neighborhood there was a garden hedge that I passed when walking the dog, on extremely cold days on a rough count there was an assembly of about 20 to30 sparrows in the hedge huddled together, they must have sensed we were no threat as they just hopped back and forth, never did see one fall.

Ps 119 vs 98 was penned saying, “ Thou through thy commandments hast ‘ made’ me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me ‘
So who is ‘wise’ in this day, when rights and privileges over rule obligations and responsibilities,
So who is ‘strong’ in this day, Prov 16vs 32 ‘ He that is slow to anger is ‘better’ than the mighty, and he that ruleth his spirit than he that take to a city’
Who is ‘rich ‘ in this day, Ps 128 vs 2 ‘ For thou shalt ‘eat’ the labour of thine hands: ‘happy’ shalt thou be, and it shall be ‘well’ with thee’
Ms Houston  unfortunately was not able to conquer her own inclinations, Probably most of us also struggle in that area.
But her music is still around.

When I see a sparrow or any little bird, I think of what Jesus said of sparrows.  It will soon be spring, so I'm hoping to see some birds when out gardening.

Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

This is my 'hers' for today, it will probably become my theme song as I walk on.

I've never heard this rendition before but a thumbs by me, whilst in Cyprus the band had an impromptu skiffle group and they would rock the NAAFI  with this.!!!!

Prayers and Praise. / Daily Prayer

This is my extended "After this manner" Pray ye.

"Heavenly Father, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Give me this day my daily bread and help me to forgive those who trespass against me
And lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil.
Be my first thought in the morning and my last thought every day
And in between may this vessel shine in all I say and do
That the world may see Christ lives in me, and learn to love Him too.
For thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory
Forever, and ever, AMEN"

It was a wonderful 60 degrees Fahrenheit here today.  I did some shopping and then went for a brief walk.  I met a few people.

I met a woman and her child. The woman had a grim expression on her face, and she was clutching the hand of her child.  Since the sidewalk was narrow up ahead, I found a place on the broader part I was in to move into so they could pass me while still holding hands.  Neither said anything. I felt sorry for that child.

The next couple I met was a woman and daughter out walking their dog.  I think it was a blond English setter. It was smelling the ground in the soil around a tree.  Since that tree took up part of the sidewalk, it was narrow there too. I was in no hurry and didn't want to interrupt the peaceful picture, so I said, "Dogs do like to smell around when it's warm outside."  The woman smiled and said, "She didn't get out to walk much when it was so cold."  Then the dog spotted me and wagged her tail.  "Lovely dog," I said; and the dog headed my way so I reached down to pet her head.  Then the daughter joined her and told me the dog's name was Tara.    It was a wonderful picture.  The daughter was so well behaved, her mother didn't need to clutch her hand to make such she didn't get into trouble by wandering into the street.  The daughter also seemed to trust me, telling me she still retained the innocence of childhood that Jesus spoke of.

Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The dog also wasn't afraid of me, telling me it was also in a safe environment. Then another Scripture came to mind:

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I didn't have to see the father to know both parents were doing a splendid job with this young girl.  My prayer is that God keep them all safe in His Hands.  I also thanked God I met them since the world can be so gloomy at times; it was wonderful to see goodness in other people as well as in the friendly dog.

I also met a girl I used to work with when shopping.  I worked with her dad too. I love her eyes.  She's named Caitlin, and yes, she has those Irish eyes, inherited from her dad.

Good morning and good afternoon to others, we have been blessed by about 18" of frozen rain but fortunately not Artic cold. As the old song says ' Count your blessings name them one by one ' so that's my first count that I name.
Just finished watching my USA grand "kids" in Japan, not one picture of beans on toast, a bit to authentic for my palate of their eating choices. But a great one of my grand daughter feeding goats in a park and a young buck taking a fancy to her, good choice by male deer by the way, but some nice evasive moves by grand daughter. ;)  ;)  ;)
Liar, liar and you know the rest, seems to be the order of the day in the Epstein book of revelations, his sphere of influence far exceeds my large grey ones.
I bet for some who have died they are probably smiling to themselves.

It reads more and more that the wisdom of this world gets more foolish as time goes by, our Mr Carnage smiles, and says one thing and does just the opposite. It never ceases to amaze me how those who have the rule over us, can smile, and tell lies at the same time.

The wheeze I hear is to invest in silver, my English friend was saying this in 1978 and when he died, he had 1 tonne buried on his property, all that and it never stopped him dying.
I bet he's smiling and thinking "I told you so". Some trust in chariots, some in silver but we will trust in the "name" of the Lord.

As the Olympics fade away, our two provincial hockey teams are gearing up for a run at the cup, my 'lot'
have the colander goalies unfortunately, we traded one away for two who can replicate him perfectly but not as well as it turns out.
I do worry, will there be hockey in heaven  :)  :)  :)

There you go Mike, more twaddle from across the pond. Spelling and grammatical errors are included.

Kerry they have a fascinating term for losing teeth , it's called "Spittin' Chicklets" for the team!!!!!
I would never have guessed that, Dave!

Another thing I saw was while the US won, a Canadian won the MVP award.
