Hi Dave Yes the greyhound Stadium is in Hove, still there. We used to go there quite a lot as well, when the children were younger. From time to time Jeff and I would go for a meal in the restaurant. They would come and collect your betting slips etc from the table. Not sure I would go there anymore as my views have changed on the whole racing environment, both with horses and dogs.Rita

Rita, a mate and myself maaaaaaany years ago went Greyhound racing I think it was in Hove, if my memory serves me right, was it one of your Dads haunts in his young days???Back to old Jethro, interesting he's recorded under seven names in scripture but mainly Jethro- meaning " Abundance, Excellence or his remnant.Reuel-Friend of God.Some scholars have his title as Jethro-His Excellency and Reuel as his personal name, take your pick   In Druze religion, he is revered as a 'hidden true prophet' who communicated with the Lord and passed it on to Moses who become a 'revealed prophet' to Israel. And it's recorded he lived close by the Mount of God Ex 18: 9-12. Interesting that Jethro comes by the Abraham- Keturah line and Moses from old Abraham and Sarah line.Moses stays with the Jethro clan 40 years and when Moses school time is up, we have the Burning bush encounter. Hi Dave , No the old Brighton and Hove ground use to be called ‘ The Goldstone Ground ‘ and it was in Hove. Then for many many years they didn’t have a ground, often using the Withdene Stadium. Finally they put forward plans to build the Amex at Falmer ( there were a lot of protests as it’s on the Sussex downs. In the end the plans were agreed, claiming the stadium would not be that visible from the downs ( it’s just down from where I use to live In Woodingdean. To be fair you don’t see it until you come nearer to Falmer. I use to go to The Goldstone ground with my dad, before the days of the premier league. Never been to a match at the Amex - I should do that one day with my eldest.

Do not even think that "hell" is permanent.  It's meant to burn away "sinful branches" on the tree of man.  Repent and change now with the gentle flames of the Holy Spirit -- or be thrown into hell to have them burned away.  Odd that the same flames of Divine Love are at work in hell; but having sins burned away while trying to cling to them is experienced as painful.  Note too that Jesus did not return to Heaven in the three days between the crucifixion and resurrection.  He visited souls in Paradise (like the thief) and he also preached in hell.  Thus he told Mary Magdalene he had not yet ascended to the Father. Such are my beliefs anyway.
